    Construction Assistant

     

    Full Time Hourly- Estimated pay range $20-$22 per hour depending on qualifications and experiences

     

    Must be at least 18 years and older

    Position Description:

    To complete assigned work orders and preventative maintenance on any and all aspects of the building, while working as part of team assisting other to success. This is an entry level position, where the team member will learn how to complete tasks independently and grow into a valuable member of the team. Working with whatever materials necessary to make repairs and complete installations as capable and as necessary. Cleaning and maintenance of the shop and refrigerated cases. Assisting with other aspects of the department and or building as the Facility Manager sees fit.

    Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or construction-related coursework preferred.

    + 1–2 years of experience in construction, facilities support, or retail build-outs (preferred).

    + Basic understanding of construction processes, safety practices, and building materials.

    + Strong organizational and communication skills.

    + Ability to read simple floor plans or construction drawings (preferred).

    + A positive can-do attitude is a must, a good listener

    + Some knowledge of trades such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry

    + Some familiarity with operation of power tools, shop tools, miters and steel

    + Ability to learn the use of Excel, Word, Internet research engines

    + Ability to acquire OSHA 10 Certification

    + Ability work and function within a TEAM environment.

    + Ability to juggle multiple tasks; Flexibility in work schedule

    + Must have no problem getting their hands dirty

    Your day-to-day:

    + Shop maintenance and assisting the Facility Manager with any building related tasks as necessary

    + Case cleaning and maintenance as necessary

    + Assisting the other disciplines of the department with their assigned work orders or PM’s

    + Working with the Facility Manager to maintain exterior drains, floors drains and pump pit operations

    + Basic HVAC and Carpentry projects, painting and roof maintenance

    + To pressure wash the coils of a case or to blow out with Nitrogen based on the location of unit
