Position Summary
The National Account Manager is responsible for achieving all sales and profit goals by growing existing business and developing new opportunities with assigned retail accounts. This role builds strong, long-term relationships with buyers, planners, and other key partners by understanding their business needs and offering solutions that drive results in both physical and digital channels. Internally, the role works closely with sales, marketing, finance, forecasting, operations, and customer service teams to support shared goals and ensure success for both FOTL and retail partners.

Strategic Planning & Goal Execution
Focus on maximizing category performance, identifying new opportunities, and aligning strategies with both customer and corporate objectives. Set measurable goals, prioritize initiatives, monitor progress, and adjust plans as needed to deliver results.

Account Relationships & Relationship Development
Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with key accounts to drive sales growth, customer satisfaction, and new business opportunities. Lead product presentations, understand customer needs, and expand business within existing and new accounts.

Financial Management, Negotiation & Analytics
Manage trade budgets to support growth and profitability, ensuring effective use of funds and maximizing ROI. Negotiate profitable, mutually beneficial agreements. Analyze sales performance versus plan, develop alternative strategies when needed, and lead all activities for product line reviews, including program analysis, forecasting, pricing, and presentation development. Monitor competitor activity (in-store and online) and understanding each account’s strategy, competition, and target consumers to inform data-driven recommendations.

Team Leadership & Development
Manage, coach, and develop Sales team members. Provide training, direction, performance feedback, and support for consistent execution of sales processes.

Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field; or equivalent work experience
+ Strong ability to influence and negotiate with customers and internal partners to secure needed resources.
+ Ability to analyze account opportunities, growth, profitability, and develop long term strategic plans.
+ Understands customer motives and behaviors; identifies decision makers and influencers, and understands how to effectively engage key stakeholders during negotiations.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong presentation skills with the ability to deliver clear, compelling content.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
+ Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS Teams).
+ Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making skills.
+ Ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders and interface with various levels of management.
+ Solid financial acumen/good understanding of financial levers and impact on the business
+ 10-25% Travel required for position.
Minimum Job Experience Required
+ 5+ years of experience working on national account business development plans and implementation with a proven track record of effectively creating and communicating a compelling sales message, business plans, and strategies.
+ Experience in retail sales working with national retailers.
