Line Cook

PeopleReady of Hollywood, FL is hiring Line Cooks for Cirque du Soleil in Hallandale Beach, February 19th to April 25th! Come be part of the fun today!

Pay Rate:

_The pay rate for this job is $21 - $21 / hour*_

What you'll be doing as a Line Cook:

+ Prepare and cook food according to recipes for VIP customers and/or Cirque employees

+ Report and follow chef's instructions

+ Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food productions at line stations to ensure smooth service

+ Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently and ensure food comes out in high quality and in a timely fashion

+ Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices

+ Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

+ Clean up stations and take care of the leftover food.

+ Clean up kitchen area, take out trash, mop floors and wipe down the dining area when needed

+ Participate in the teardown and set up of the kitchen

+ Help oversee prep cook's duties and tasks

Available shifts:

Shift timings - 1st Shift (Day), 2nd Shift (Evening), Weekends

Job requirements:

+ 3 to 5 years of proven cooking experience in high end restaurants or hotels

+ Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures

+ Culinary skills and techniques for preparing small and large quantities of food

+ Be familiar with the industry's best practices

+ Ability to handle and prepare a variety of raw and cooked foods

+ Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area

+ Ability to work well under pressure and take direction

+ Ability to lift heavy items and work in a loud environment

+ Stand in kitchen environment for long periods of time

+ Ability to provide health/food safety certification documentation that may be required

+ Background Check Required
