The Technical Product Manager, Research Solutions is responsible for bridging the gap between product development and market execution, ensuring the products and solutions meet customer needs and are effectively positioned to succeed by infusing customer, application and market expertise into customer engagement and championing go-to-market success across marketing, commercial, digital, manufacturing, and R&D.
This position reports to the Senior Director, Research Solutions and is part of the Product Management team located in Waltham, MA and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Drive the development of customer engagement strategy at short- and mid-term horizons in line with overall portfolio strategy and translate it into tactical actions for direct execution and in conjunction with cross-functional teams across Abcam to drive revenue growth
+ Champion the voice of customer in development of focused go-to-market strategies partnering across marketing, sales, and other cross-functional partners ensuring customer-focused initiatives align with overall portfolio goals to drive growth objectives
+ Map customer needs to differentiated value propositions, applying insights gained through research and market intimacy, inclusive of prioritizing and guiding creation of quantitative scientific proof points
+ Accelerate new product introductions by preparing and planning launch readiness across all channels and supporting functions (marketing, operations, R&D) to drive revenue growth
+ Be a strategic team member, create and share best practices to elevate team capabilities, cross-functional collaboration, and drive best-in-class practices while evolving into a versatile and reliable leader, driving business-critical initiatives through strategic and agile allocation of your talents
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ BA, BSc or equivalent experience in a life science or related field, e.g., biology, biochemistry, genetics with 5+ years of post-educational experience in product/marketing management, R&D or related area, resulting in working knowledge of both relevant scientific techniques and business/commercial processes
+ Strong business acumen, including knowledge of life science market and understanding of life science customer types and the ability to be effective at driving, and strong track record of success implementing, business priorities across multiple channels and at multiple organizational levels
+ Analytical mindset that enables data driven decision making, with experience apply that to pricing, product data, performance monitoring and synthesizing complex approaches and results into meaningful insights and actions that can be can easily communicated
+ Ability to be, and track record of being, extremely effective in driving cross-functional collaboration through strong written and verbal communication at all levels of an organization and externally, project management and process improvement skill sets
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
+ Ability to travel up to 20%, domestically and internationally
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Using advanced analysis / visualization tools, e.g., Tableau
+ Relevant advanced degree, e.g., Ph.D. in life science, MD, MBA
+ Working with a global team and supporting customers across varying global market environments

The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $140,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
