Job Summary and Qualifications

The Certified Pharmacy Technicianis responsible forassistingPharmacists in all daily activities related to department workflow while knowing and actingin accordance withestablished policies and procedures. This position assists in the procurement, preparation, delivery, return, and restocking of medications, andmaintainsthe ability to use all equipment and technology necessary to fulfill job responsibilities effectively and efficiently. This technician alsofacilitatesexceptional customer service to both internal and external customers andis responsible forcontributing to a positive work environment.

What you will do in this role:

+ You willmaintaina strong knowledge of hospital policies and government regulations and dispenses accordingly.

+ You will consult with physicians and nursing staffregardingpatient reactions, errors, and complaints.

+ You willassistwith quality improvement initiatives,inventoryand ordering of pharmaceuticals.

+ You willmonitor, record, andcommunicate asappropriate utilizingcomputerized documentation systems.

+ You will follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment asrequired.

What qualifications you will need:

+ TN State Pharmacy Tech license

+ Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Tech (CPhT) must be obtained within90 daysof employment start date

+ Hospital experience preferred
