Job Summary and Qualifications

The Speech Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. As a member of the health care team, the Speech Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments andestablishesappropriate treatmentgoals. The Speech Therapist serves as an educator to patients, families,studentsand colleagues.

What you will do in this role:

+ You will conduct a subjective assessment of assigned patient’s speech language abilities during spontaneous conversation. You will administer objective tests to assesspatient’scommunication assets and liabilities.

+ You will structure and implement individualized patientprogramto improve communication abilities.

+ You will evaluatepatientregularly during treatment and adjustprogramas needed to maximize patient progress.

+ You will document progress inpatient’schart. You will complete notes, charges, dischargenotesand patient communication.

+ You will consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Directorregardingpre-screen assessments and physician consultations to determineappropriate placementof potential patients.

What qualifications you will need:

+ Speech Pathologist

+ MastersDegree

+ Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR must be obtained within30 daysof employment start date
