Job Description
The Assistant Football Coach/Offensive Line Coach is responsible for coaching and developing the offensive line unit for the Texas A&M University-Texarkana football program. This position assists the Head Football Coach in building and sustaining a competitive NCAA Division II football program through effective coaching, recruiting, player development, game preparation, and strict adherence to University, Lone Star Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Coach, develop, and mentor offensive line student-athletes, emphasizing technique, fundamentals, and performance.
+ Plan, organize, and conduct position-specific meetings, practices, drills, and skill development sessions.
+ Teach and implement offensive line schemes consistent with the program’s offensive philosophy.
+ Collaborate with the offensive coordinator and offensive staff on game planning, scouting reports, and play installation.
+ Analyze game and practice film to evaluate player performance and identify areas for improvement.
+ Assist with in-game coaching, adjustments, and communication related to offensive line play.
+ Recruit qualified prospective student-athletes in compliance with NCAA Division II, Lone Star Conference, and university regulations.
+ Evaluate prospective student-athletes through film review, on-campus visits, camps, and off-campus recruiting activities.
+ Support the academic success, personal development, and retention of student-athletes.
+ Work closely with strength and conditioning staff to develop and monitor year-round training programs for offensive linemen.
+ Promote a positive, disciplined, and inclusive team culture aligned with university and athletics department values.
+ Assist with equipment management, travel planning, and logistical coordination as assigned.
+ Participate in departmental meetings, compliance education, and professional development activities.
+ Represent the football program and the University at camps, clinics, community outreach, and fundraising events.
+ Assist in transportation of athletes to/from athletic events, which may include driving a full-size passenger van or other large capacity vehicle.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Demonstrated experience coaching football at the collegiate or high school level.
+ Knowledge of offensive line techniques, schemes, and player development.
+ Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, or ability to obtain such knowledge within 30 days of employment.
+ Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
+ Ability to travel extensively and work beyond normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical standards.
+ State of Texas or Arkansas class "C" vehicle operator's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment, including an acceptable driving record and periodic completion of van safety course, as required.
+ Physical Requirements
+ Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
+ Working in all weather conditions, exposure to high noise levels, standing throughout the day, the ability to use a loud voice at practices and events and physical involvement in all practices and workouts with players.

Preferred Qualifications
+ Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
+ Collegiate coaching experience, preferably at the NCAA Division II level or higher.
+ Proven success in coaching and developing offensive linemen.
+ Recruiting experience and familiarity with the Lone Star Conference or regional recruiting areas.
+ Experience working within a multi-coach offensive staff structure.
