+ This job is a member of the Crew Scheduling Administration Team within the Integrated Operations Division.
+ Responsible for managing schedules for the operations team within Crew Scheduling, administering vacation bids, work line bids, and managing daily needs for open time coverage.
What you'll do
+ Manages the open time trip coverage process American Airlines crew scheduling groups
+ Ensures the correct and uniform application of all company policies regarding vacation, sick time, FMLA, etc.
+ Coordinates with the Senior Manager of Crew Scheduling Administration and SMS and Director, Crew Scheduling Operations to achieve departmental goals
+ Ensures systems are in place to reduce coverage shortages and anticipates coverage needs due to training/department changes
+ Manages the yearly bidding processes for all Crew Scheduling departments
+ Manages Ascent system changes and enhancements
+ Provides bidding results to entire Crew Scheduling department
+ Administers vacation slides, training trades, and overtime management
+ Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
+ Supervises, leads, and guides team of analyst; manages the ongoing and annual talent conversations/development, performance management, coaching and counseling, and recruiting
+ Creates and manages department schedules with the assistance of Crew Scheduling Departments and Finance
+ Coaches and counsels employees to correct and improve performance
+ Motivates team for continual improvement in process and internal customer experience
+ Ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays. Ability to work rotating shifts (AM's, PM's and MID's) as required. Ability to work overtime as required, sometimes with little or no advance notice
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
+ High School diploma or GED equivalency
+ 5 years related experience
+ Hands on experience with the Flight Operating System (FOS), Ascent, OUTLOOK
+ Previous supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
+ Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
+ Knowledge of hiring practices and procedures at American Airlines
+ Previous Workbrain experience
+ Previous experience working with bid lines, work schedules, and vacation management
+ Demonstrated ability to lead based on the American Airlines leadership model
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
+ Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions based on information gathered/reviewed
+ Ability to be flexible and capable of adapting to constant change
+ Ability to work with all levels of management
+ Cognitive skills to read and understand numbers and letters, and the ability to apply that knowledge
+ Ability to learn computer systems and applications and apply knowledge
+ Ability to prioritize tasks
+ Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
+ Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines
+ Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage employee schedules
+ Must report to work on a regular and timely basis
+ Ability to manually complete duties in the event of computer and system outages
+ Must pass a background reference check and criminal fingerprint check
+ Strong managerial and interpersonal skills
+ Ability to utilize reference materials and other resources to complete tasks
+ Ability to effectively facilitate meetings
