Job Summary

The Production Supervisor is accountable for overseeing production crews to attain production, cost and quality goals while maintaining a safe work environment. The position schedules the appropriate staff to meet production demands and monitors shift progress to meet expected key performance indicators. Incumbent has responsibility to provide direction and to support workforce in compliance with policies, procedures and practices established by the Company.

Shift: 12 hour Nights (2-2-3 working every other weekend)

Essential Functions:

+ Directly supervises the hourly production employees on the safe and efficient operation of the production line equipment and processes. Will lead shift safety meetings to ensure compliance to all safety, environmental and health policies, procedures, and practices.-

+ Communicates & documents employee expectations and assess employee performance. Provides coaching and development opportunities and administers disciplinary action up to and including termination if needed. Will be required to assist in the evaluation and selection process of hiring hourly employees.

+ Oversees the training of production employees to ensure they receive adequate training prior to operating any of the manufacturing equipment and that they follow the standard operating procedures and work instructions.

+ Assists in performing root-cause analysis as well as implementing sustainable countermeasures on losses related to production.

+ Maintains workplace organization to ensure good housekeeping (5S) by holding employees responsible for their assigned work areas.

+ Reviews and approves employee time in the UKG timekeeping system and ensures employees are paid the correct hours and wages in accordance with the respective sites pay policies and procedures or collective bargaining agreements.

+ Investigate EH&S incidents – Injuries, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage. Conduct EHS and SMAT Audits to support the plants EHS goals. Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities.

+ Participate in the development, understanding and review of all position job safety assessments and standard operating procedures and participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)

Experience & Technical Knowledge:

+ 5+ Years of Manufacturing (Required)

+ 5+ Years of Supervision/Leadership (Required)

+ TF Reporting/Safety (Preferred)

+ Microsoft Office (Required)

+ UKG & SAP Systems (Preferred)

Leadership & Communication Skills:

+ Good verbal and written communication skills (Required)

+ General understanding of ISO methodology (ISO 9001, 14001, & OHSAS 18001) (Required)

+ Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution (Required)

+ Demonstrate through actions and behaviors the SG Principles of Conduct and Action (Required)

+ Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 5S & Six Sigma (Preferred)
