    Fabricator/Millwright must understand statistical process control (SPC), have knowledge of product line and manufacturing standards, follow verbal and written instructions. The normal operating duties are listed below and can change depending on unforeseen circumstances or are assigned by supervision for the success of the operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining industrial machinery and equipment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in welding and metal fabrication, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical systems.

    Read and Interpret Blueprints:

    -Understand and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the materials and methods required for fabrication.

    Material Preparation:

    -Select and prepare materials (metal, plastic, or composite) for fabrication based on project requirements.

     

    -Cut, shape, and mold materials using appropriate tools and equipment.

    Welding and Joining:

    -Utilize welding and other joining techniques to assemble components, ensuring precision and adherence to quality standards.

     

    -Operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.

    Machine Operation:

    -Operate various machinery, such as lathes, mills, saws, and grinders, to fabricate and shape materials as needed.

    Measurement and Quality Control:

    -Take precise measurements to ensure accurate assembly and alignment of components.

     

    -Conduct quality control checks to verify that fabricated products meet specified tolerances and standards.

    Problem Solving:

    -Identify and resolve issues related to fabrication processes, materials, or equipment to ensure the smooth progress of projects.

     

    -Fabricate custom parts for machinery and structural components.

    Field Installation:

    -Must be able to assemble and disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment and systems as needed, with or without mechanical support or supervision.

     

    -Install and align industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to specifications.

     

    -Must be able to take precise measurements of field equipment with or without support or supervision.

     

    -Must be able to conduct quality checks after installation to ensure safe and proper operation.

    Collaboration:

    -Work closely with engineers and other team members to understand project requirements and provide input on the feasibility and efficiency of fabrication processes.

    Safety Compliance:

    -Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to create a secure working environment.

     

    -Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials as required.

    Documentation:

    -Maintain accurate records of materials used, time spent on projects, and any deviations from the original specifications.

     

    -Must understand basic computer skills and ability to use a CMMS system

    Continuous Improvement:

    -Stay informed about new fabrication techniques, materials, and equipment to enhance skills and contribute to process improvements.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in metalworking or fabrication is preferred. Proven experience as a fabricator, millwright, or in a similar mechanical role; 3 years required experience. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints. Knowledge of welding techniques and equipment. Familiarity with various fabrication tools and machinery. Strong attention to detail and precision. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy materials. Must abide by certain OSHA and local government agency regulations, mandatory safety training, protective gear and chemical handling procedures that are required.
