    Position Overview

    Consistent with corporate objectives and world-class manufacturing principles, the Maintenance Manager provides leadership to effectively manage maintenance functions within a gypsum wallboard and plaster manufacturing plant. This position oversees the physical plant—including buildings, grounds, machinery, and equipment—ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and fire prevention standards.

    The Maintenance Manager collaborates with the Engineering team to implement robust maintenance programs that leverage advanced technology and predictive maintenance strategies.

    Key Responsibilities

    Leadership & Team Development

    + Provide leadership to all employees within the Maintenance team, including direction of the Reliability Pillar.

    + Build a culture of trust, engagement, and collaboration through coaching, mentoring, and team development.

    + Ensure Individual Development Plans are active and current for all Maintenance team members.

    + Promote a learning and growth mindset by identifying skill gaps and implementing tailored training programs.

    -Safety & Compliance

    + Maintain an accident-free worksite and continuously evaluate workplace safety concerns.

    + Ensure behavioral safety initiatives meet goal levels and model company Vision, Mission, and Values.

    + Enforce plant rules, safety regulations, and good housekeeping practices (5S).

    -Operational Excellence

    + Prepare budgets and oversee planning and scheduling of all maintenance activities.

    + Direct PM activities using Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles to expand lean manufacturing across the plant.

    + Manage labor, materials, and equipment utilization to optimize production and minimize downtime.

    + Ensure compliance with all legal, environmental, and financial internal control guidelines.

    Continuous Improvement & Innovation

    + Lead focused improvement projects based on loss analysis and reliability data.Collaborate on CAPEX projects and early equipment management initiatives.

    + Drive predictive and preventive maintenance programs to achieve world-class yield, availability, and reliability.

    + Stay current on industry trends and advancements in maintenance technology.

    Collaboration & Communication

    + Work cross-functionally with plant management to align maintenance activities with production goals.

    + Communicate progress toward plant objectives regularly to all department employees.

    + Engage with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely repairs, installations, and compliance with standards.

    + A Bachelor's degree in business or education or equivalent experience is required.

    + A minimum of six years of experience of leadership experience is preferred.

    + Excellent problem-solving skills.

    + Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Demonstrated ability to lead under pressure.

    + Work collaboratively with other departments and external partners.

    + Detail-oriented.
