About the Role:
The Loan Servicing Consultant role involves collaboration across our internal teams and with a wide range of external partners, including borrowers, sponsors, clients, contractors, attorneys, title companies, architects, brokers, appraisers, and other deal-related stakeholders. This position requires the ability to independently prepare formal written presentations analyzing a broad range of loan- and property-level matters; provide exceptional service to internal and external partners; conduct detailed financial analysis; and perform financial and commercial mortgage underwriting tasks. The role also requires a strong understanding of commercial real estate finance, including time value of money principles and the review of loan and transactional documents.
This position may also include supporting and guiding analysts within the department, including quality review of written materials, financial analyses, property inspections, and related tasks; conducting market and submarket research; providing training and oversight; and reviewing or refining presentations prepared by others. The Associate Portfolio Manager is a key member of the Asset Management team, responsible for managing a portfolio and recommending strategies directly to clients for certain transactions while supporting other managers as needed.
What You'll Do:
+ Monitor the performance of properties and progress of business plans for a defined portfolio of loans and/or joint venture equity investments, and support team members on additional transactions.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, borrowers/sponsors, property managers, and other stakeholders when designated as the lead manager.
+ Communicate relevant updates and issues to internal leadership and clients.
+ Conduct research and financial analysis of commercial real estate properties and portfolios.
+ Assist with data compilation and present analysis used for investment decisions.
+ Identify project risks, develop mitigation and contingency plans, and implement actions to reduce or eliminate risks.
+ Oversee preparation of annual budgets and strategic plans for assigned properties.
+ Provide responsive, solutions-oriented service to clients, borrowers/partners, and internal/external stakeholders.
+ Review and interpret deal documents and monitor compliance.
+ Perform construction draw reviews and coordinate funding processes with inspectors, clients, and borrowers.
+ Review and communicate understanding of all aspects of assigned deals, including leases, franchise agreements, and other relevant documents.
+ Review and analyze third-party reports.
+ Prepare recommendations for client review and approval in response to borrower or sponsor requests.
+ Build and maintain financial models to track capital flows for ground-up and major renovation projects, including those with multiple capital partners.
+ Build and maintain financial models for commercial real estate loans with multiple collateral releases.
+ Monitor completion of special-condition items required by deal documents.
+ Collaborate closely on each assigned investment to support successful client outcomes.
+ Draft, manage, update, and/or review monthly reports and ensure compliance with client-specific requirements.
+ Conduct property inspections in coordination with clients and/or third-party inspectors.
+ Review annual budgets and monitor operating statements, benchmarking results to underwriting projections.
+ Train and support team members in activities performed on behalf of clients and customers.
+ Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include:
+ Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university; three or more years of experience with underwriting or asset management of commercial real estate; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Strong professional writing and verbal communication skills.
+ Detailed underwriting capabilities.
+ Understanding of construction and development processes.
+ Experience tracking construction projects for capital providers.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing and prioritizing multiple complex transactions.
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including building models for performance tracking and cash flow forecasting.
+ Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
+ Ability to provide guidance and support to team members.
+ Prior experience in commercial real estate, with emphasis on cash flow modeling, construction loan administration, valuation, and/or servicing.
+ Understanding of real estate and finance principles, including time value of money.
+ Ability to perform financial calculations.
