Position Overview
Eurasia Group is seeking an Associate Director of Communications in the Office of the President to support the principal's media and communications priorities and broader mission of helping people understand the world around them. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the international relations landscape, a proven track record of developing and executing successful media relations and communications strategies, and experience working with the most influential top tier print, digital and broadcast media. This role is based in Eurasia Group’s New York office.
Responsibilities:
+ Work in close coordination with the principal, the principal’s Chief of Staff, and Eurasia Group’s Head of Communications and serve as a member of the Office of the President, Eurasia Group’s Communications team, and Eurasia Group’s Communications Committee.
+ Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies that support principal’s thought leadership goals and objectives. This can include being responsive to the day-to-day and breaking news cycles as well as managing the principal’s deployment in large-scale campaigns such as Eurasia Group’s flagship Top Risks Report, book launches, and client events.
+ Manage all aspects of the principal’s media relations, including coordinating logistics in the lead up to and following media appearances, writing and distributing pitches for proactive media placement, and reviewing inbound opportunities to make recommendations on which ones should be prioritized.
+ Build and maintain working level relationships with producers, media partners, and other stakeholders.
+ Manage individual responsible for social media content generation.
+ Coordinate rapid response communications strategy with relevant stakeholders.
+ Distribute principal’s monthly universal column to partners globally.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
• At least 7 years of experience in media and communications, with a focus on international relations
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful communications campaigns
• Marketing and event planning experience are a plus
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency, discretion and professionalism – and to work both independently and as part of broader teams
• Must be familiar with and have relationships with mainstream print, online and broadcast media outlets globally, with a particular focus on the US, Europe and Japan, as relevant to international affairs and business
• Strong attention to detail and ability to learn principal’s scheduling priorities
• Sophisticated understanding of how to leverage social media to accomplish strategic communications objectives
• Excellent relationship, people and project management skills
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced client-oriented environment where both traditional and social media strategy are key components of brand building and marketing
• Must be comfortable operating in a global environment with key stakeholders dispersed across multiple geographies
• Must be eligible for employment in the United States and available to work in Eurasia Group’s New York City office
The applicable base salary range for this role is 93,000 to 110,000
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
