    The Director of IT Engineering will play a pivotal role in establishing the Digital Automation and Integration solutions within the Digital DevOps Function.

     

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solution Architect with deep subject matter expertise in Application Development, Intelligent Automation, Agentic AI Automation, and Application Integration. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing and delivering Solutions, automation solutions in the Life Sciences and/or Biotechnology Industry and possess a strong understanding of infrastructure domains such as AWS Cloud, Security, Networks, Platforms and Various Application such as Oracle EBS, Veeva, Salesforce etc.,

     

    This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional technical and communication skills, capable of collaborating across diverse and cross functional teams, including Infrastructure Architects, Platform Engineers, Security Experts, and Application Development teams. The candidate should also have the ability to articulate automation challenges and opportunities to stakeholders effectively and contribute to technical documentation.

    As a Director of IT Engineering, a typical day might include the following -

    + Create Solution Architecture and Design to implement scalable, robust, and secure solution for applications using BPM technologies and Automation tools.

    + Work with Automation Architects, Application Architects, Integration Architects, Security Architects, Infrastructure, Platform and Enterprise Architects and lead the development of Solutions for Process and task automation solutions leveraging tools such as UiPath, Power Automate, Agentic AI platforms.

    + Build AI-driven solutions using Agentic AI for intelligent automation and decision-making processes.

    + Develop and implement digital automation strategies tailored to the unique needs of the Life Sciences Industry, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

    + Identify opportunities for process improvement and task automation, delivering measurable efficiency gains.

    + Stay updated on emerging trends in automation and AI technologies to drive innovation within the organization.

    + Work closely with Infrastructure Architects, Platform Architects, and Security Architects to ensure solution designs align with infrastructure, security, and compliance requirements.

    + Collaborate with Application Architects and Development Teams to implement end-to-end solutions that meet business and technical goals.

    + Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    + Create comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specifications, and operational guidelines.

    + Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders, articulating automation challenges, capabilities, and proposed solutions.

    + Ensure solutions are optimized for AWS Cloud and other infrastructure platforms, considering factors such as scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.

    + Address security and compliance requirements in collaboration with Information Security teams.

    + Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and effectiveness of the Solutions built

    + Participate in leadership meetings to provide updates on the progress, challenges, and outcomes of various initiatives.

    + Working with Quality to respond to any regulatory non-compliance and related CAPA

    This role may be for you if you have:

    + 15+ years of experience in Solution Architecture, with a focus on Digital Application Development, Automation, AI, and Integration.

    + Strong understanding of AWS Cloud, including infrastructure design, scalability, and cost optimization.

    + Knowledge of security, networking, and platforms, with the ability to collaborate with domain experts.

    + Proficiency in technical writing and creating architecture documentation.

    + Proven expertise in BPM technologies such as Appian, Camunda, UiPath APPs, Power Automate, AI/ML, RPA and Intelligent Automation tools, Agentic AI, Integration platforms such as Boomi Technologies, Messaging Platform such as Amazon MQ, ActiveMQ, Rabbit MQ, IBM MQ.

    + Demonstrated success in implementing process and task automation in the Life Sciences Industry.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    + Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

    + Good understanding of AWS Infrastructure services a Cloud Architect specializing in AWS Cloud Services.

    + Good Understanding of SSDLC and Observability frameworks.

    + Prior Experience working in Life Science regulatory environment

    + Good understanding and experience of GxP Qualification and Validation activities

     

    In order to be considered for this position, you must hold a master’s degree in information technology or computer science.

     

    Director: 15+ years of progressively more responsible experience, including 8 years of managing Cloud DevOps/Engineering teams and a minimum of 6 years’ experience as Software Developer and 3 years’ experience in an FDA or similarly regulated environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
