Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Hertford is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Melt Shop Technical Supervisor. The role of the Melt Shop Technical Supervisor includes, but is not limited to:

+ Establishing a culture of safety awareness, team development, quality production, and continuous improvement.

+ Coordinating safety, quality, and process improvements throughout the Melt Shop and Caster.

+ Managing metallurgical engineering functions in the Melt Shop and Caster, including coaching, mentoring, and developing the Melt Shop metallurgical and process team.

+ Leading the Melt Shop and Casting Team to achieve World Class Quality, Yields, and Costs.

+ Supporting new product development efforts and coordinating trials with other departments.

+ Supporting customer technical service including direct technical contact with OEM customers.

+ Developing technical training for our teammates.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ B.S. Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent engineering degree

+ Minimum of 5 years of Melt Shop or Continuous Casting metallurgy experience
