    We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented Strategic Supply Chain Manager (SSCM) for the Lawn & Garden business who will thrive at solving complex supply chain and inventory management challenges. As an SSCM, you will be at the forefront of strategic planning, execution, and optimization of Amazon's supply chain operations.

     

    The Strategic Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for developing inventory sourcing strategies and end-to-end ownership of all supply chain processes from manufacturer to consumer. The SSCM contributes to cross-category operational strategy, supports vendor negotiations, and drives opportunities to reduce cost and waste in the supply chain. They will use data to influence others, invent, and build scalable systems and processes. They play a critical role in delivering the optimal customer experience by ensuring we have the right product, in the right place, at the right time

     

    Strong candidates must be highly organized, self-starting, and possess strong data extraction and analytical capabilities. They must have proven successes in driving operational initiatives and demonstrate passion for the customer experience. They must be thoughtful in their pursuit of results and thrive in a high energy environment where tactical and strategic activities are expected to be driven in parallel. They will have end-to-end supply chain strategy or inventory management experience as well as knowledge in fundamental business principles and knowledge of ecommerce and retail. The ideal candidate can lead and influence both internal and external teams in an ambiguous environment while maintaining a customer-centric philosophy.

     

    Key job responsibilities

     

    - Identify and deliver end-to-end supply chain improvement opportunities across large cohorts of vendors.

     

    - Monitor, analyze, and own category Key Performance Indicators such as: out of stock, lead time, and confirmation rates to present insights, themes and trends to Senior Leadership team.

     

    - Define the operational strategy and contribute to the business growth and operations planning process for select vendors.

     

    - Own initiatives to enhance cost structure and profitability, collaborating closely with partner teams to ensure successful execution.

     

    - Become the subject matter expert in a subset of supply chain programs and initiatives that impact the Lawn and Garden business overall.

     

    - Develop trust with retail vendors and collaborate on initiatives to improve supply chain efficiency and costs in order to drive a delightful experience for Amazon customers.

    Basic Qualifications

    - 3+ years of with Excel experience

     

    - 4+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience

     

    - Bachelor's degree

    Preferred Qualifications

    - Knowledge of the principles of statistical inventory control

     

    - Experience with SQL

     

    - Experience with strong project management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

     

    - Experience coordinating cross-functional inputs, meeting deadlines, and effectively managing competing priorities

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
