    Description

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.

Our Team builds the infrastructure that powers Leo software development at scale. We're creating intelligent automation and resource management systems that eliminate friction for engineering teams working with lab hardware—solving complex problems in resource orchestration, state management, and distributed systems to ensure hardware is always available, properly configured, and ready when teams need it. You will architect hardware and software platforms to enable standard and emergent satellite test scenarios, provide the computing backbone that powers multiple different test venues, and work to improve uptime and equipment health of these venues through health checks and automation. The end goal is a secure, flexible lab, available and in a healthy state when the various engineering teams need them.

    Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

    Key job responsibilities

You'll architect and develop the hardware and software platforms that enables hundreds of engineers to discover, reserve, and utilize lab resources without conflicts or downtime. This means solving complex problems in resource orchestration, state management, and distributed systems—ensuring hardware is always available, properly configured, and ready when teams need it.

Your work directly accelerates Leo's development velocity. By removing infrastructure bottlenecks and automating repetitive tasks, you enable both lab engineers to focus on high-value hardware work and development teams to ship faster without fighting over resources and ensuring their test environments mimic the actual satellites.
