Description
IMDb is seeking an experienced Senior UX Researcher to lead in-depth studies to better understand the needs, behaviors, and pain points of our customers and translate those insights into opportunities that create transformative digital experiences. As a Senior UX Researcher you will not only drive research at the highest levels of complexity but also shape how research and AI intersect across our IMDb products and businesses. This is a rare opportunity to influence the creation and direction of AI-powered solutions that facilitate deep customer understanding and strategic research insights. You will identify and deliver these key insights and strategies, partnering closely with design, engineering, product leaders and business intelligence to push the boundaries of what's possible with AI-driven user experiences.
Key job responsibilities
- Vision and Strategy: Own the UX research vision and strategy across IMDb businesses and products, ensuring these insights drive intuitive, elegant, and scalable customer experiences
- Advanced Research Methods: Independently design and lead quantitative and qualitative research projects, including survey design, statistical analysis, and behavioral analytics
- User Segmentation: Inform segmentation studies and persona development specific to our customer audiences
- Data Synthesis and Storytelling: Triangulate research insights with engagement metrics to create compelling narratives that drive product improvements and business strategy
- Research Synthesis and Integration: Synthesize findings from research work streams to identify patterns and opportunities across the fan and professional experiences.
- AI-focused Research: Set the bar for AI-focused user research by developing and adapting methodologies to understand how customers interact with AI systems, building trust and driving adoption
- Stakeholder Influence: Build mechanisms for regularly communicating insights and influence decision-makers at all levels to act on research findings, driving customer delight and business objectives

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of proven success leading User Research projects with demonstrated impact experience
- 5+ years of hands-on work with: field research, ethnography, lab-based user testing, remote testing, paper prototype testing, iterative prototype testing, concept testing, and survey design experience
- Bachelor's degree in HCDE, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or a related field
- Experience in leading User Research projects with demonstrated impact
- Experience with field research, ethnography, lab-based user testing, remote testing, paper prototype testing, iterative prototype testing, concept testing, and survey design
- Experience with all aspects of research (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting)
- Experience with behavioral data collection, quantitative data analysis, and statistics
- Have a portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g., study plans, reports, personas)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Human Factors, HCDE, Cognitive Psychology or equivalent
- Experience in a technical field (software development, network development, IT, other related)
- Experience with UX Research in non-US markets
- Experience working in a highly Agile/Scrum environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $226,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
