**Pay Range:** $17.63 - $24.91 per hour

Summary:

The purpose of this position is to help out and continue the daily training of associates in food service positions, assuring proper labeling of product and proper rotation and storage so we are always survey-ready. Continual training of food service associates on proper setup and cleanup of the dish machine so there is no point of contamination or cross contamination that could put patients at risk. Assuring proper stewardship of cleaning equipment and floor machines. Another pair of eyes is watching and correcting problems that could be issues for survey readiness. This position will be a liaison between management and employees, direct employees, and help employees follow the care values set up in the handbook. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications:

• Interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, patients, and guests.

• Coursework in food service management

• 1 to 3 years’ experience in food service.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Servesafe certification required or required to have signed up in the first 30 days of employment.

• High school graduate or G.E.D.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to stand, walk, squat, and move around the facility freely

• Be able to move objects 20-40 lbs.

Responsibilities:

• Participates in employee selection. Orients, trains, participates in the evaluation process, and recommends disciplinary action for subordinate personnel.

• Revises work assignments to provide accurate and timely food services within established time frames and budgetary guidelines.

• Audits the food service department for compliance with sanitation and safety procedures consistent with internal policy and external regulation codes. Responds immediately in a professional manner to noted deficiencies.

• Maintains temperature logs for coolers and freezers or as assigned.

• Functions actively as a member of the department management team. Contribute to problem-solving efforts.

• Implements or enforces new or changed departmental standards, policies, or procedures.

• Maintains proper security ofthe department during opening and closing by following established procedures. May deposit or be required to create a deposit of cash and assume all risk involves with cash handling procedures.

• Conducts in-service training as assigned. Monitors departmental compliance with in-services and adjusts staffing schedules. Deposits cash and maintains cash reports.

• Actively participates in the safety committee and is a member to ensure safety policies are being enforced and the department is within all safety regulations.
