    Job Title: CNC Machinist

    Job Description

    As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating machine tools to produce precision metal parts. You will ensure that all products meet precise specifications and are produced efficiently.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate machine tools such as saws, lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce metal parts.

    + Review electronic or written blueprints to understand product specifications.

    + Calculate where to cut or bore using measuring devices.

    + Position the workpiece accurately for machining.

    + Determine the speed at which the workpiece is fed into the machine.

    + Decide on the amount of material to remove during machining.

    + Select the appropriate tools and materials for each job.

    + Plan the sequence of cutting and finishing operations.

    + Change out tooling blades as necessary.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency with CNC machining and CNC mills.

    + Ability to interpret and work from blueprints.

    + Experience with machine operation and setup, including CNC lathes.

    + Minimum of 3 years of CNC Machining experience.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Preferably a 2-year vocational degree.

    + Mill experience is beneficial.

    + Experience in editing programs is a plus.

    + Welding experience is preferred.

    + Strong mechanical aptitude.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a manufacturing shop that includes welding, machining, assembly, packing, and shipping. The facility is non-climate controlled, and PPE such as steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and jeans are required. The standard shift runs from 6 am to 2:30 pm, but flexibility is needed to accommodate extended hours from 5 am to 4:30 pm on most days, including some Saturdays.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, KS.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
