    Job Title: Machine Operator** **Job Description

     

    Candidates will be responsible for setting up, monitoring, and changing over food processing equipment to make pizzas. In the bakery department, candidates are mainly operating mixing machines, filling machines, and baggers. Candidates can switch between operating a mixer, filler, and grinding machine while working in teams of 3-4.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate grinding machine by scooping cauliflower to create a fine material, mix with other materials to form dough.

    + Operate and monitor bagger machines, adjusting speed, temperature, smart scale weights, and vibration for each order.

    + Read and interpret batch tickets to make dough, weighing and adding specific amounts of raw materials and starches.

    + Operate tumbler to mix materials with specific starches, flour, and egg 2-3 days a week.

    + Set up and monitor equipment on the production line, including mixers, fillers, ovens, presses, baggers, and cartoners.

    + Handle sanitation of machinery and ensure cleanliness.

    + Monitor temperatures, speed, and duration, change rolls, wipe down machinery, and clear jams.

    + Perform visual and quality inspections.

    + Use hand and power tools for basic repairs.

    + Lift up to 50 lbs.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience working within a foods GMP environment.

    + Machine operating experience, including making adjustments and clearing jams.

    + Experience with baggers, wrappers, films, cartoners, mixers, and fillers.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Nice to have GMP experience.

    + Bilingual skills are a plus.

    Work Environment

    Candidates will work on the production floor within the toppings department. The facility is divided into a colder environment for toppings and a warmer environment for the bakery side. Ambient temperatures range from 40°F to 45°F. Monday to Saturday work schedule, with mandatory Saturdays if scheduled. The environment is clean, organized, and has a pizza aroma. Safety shoes (slip-resistant) are required from day one. Work activities include packing, stacking cases, sweeping, lifting up to 50 lbs, and loading ingredients. Candidates must wear smocks, a hair net, beard net, hearing protection, hard hat, safety glasses, and non-slip shoes. Jewelry is not permitted.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manteno, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
