Job Title: Manufacturing Production Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Production Technician for the 2:30pm-10:00pm shift. This role involves ensuring the quality of machined components by performing visual and dimensional inspections, interpreting blueprints, and maintaining production records.
Responsibilities
+ Understand quality requirements for machined components.
+ Perform visual inspections to ensure workmanship and parts are free of contamination.
+ Conduct dimensional inspections using appropriate gauges and fill out parts inspection log sheets.
+ Read and interpret low-complexity blueprints and component drawings.
+ Learn CNC machine offsets to correct off-center components.
+ Populate daily production boards with output, quality, and safety metrics.
+ Identify cycle times of parts and calculate production rates.
+ Use scales to weigh and count production pieces.
+ Maintain clean and organized gauge tables and work area, including machine cleaning and floor mopping.
+ Pull chips as required or instructed and place in proper material location.
+ Write in a clear and legible manner.
+ Check and record Heat Lot numbers.
Essential Skills
+ Experience using calipers, micrometers, and other basic gauges.
+ Ability to interpret simple component drawings.
+ Comfortable with basic arithmetic for cycle time and production rate calculations.
+ Ability to update production boards and enter inspection data.
+ Ensuring parts meet specifications and are free of defects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with production processes and safety protocols.
+ Ability to follow inspection guidelines and maintain compliance.
+ Maintaining clean work areas and proper material handling.

Work Environment
This role involves physical tasks such as lifting, pulling, and pushing weights of 25-50 lbs, as well as standing and walking during the shift.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
