Job Title: Preclinical Research Assistant
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Preclinical Research Assistant to support the Study Director and Preclinical Sponsor Representatives in the preparation and conduct of preclinical research studies. These studies aim to develop products or procedures utilizing in-vivo, ex-vivo, and in-vitro models.
Responsibilities
+ Setup study binders as per local procedures.
+ Develop study-specific data sheets.
+ Support the study director in addressing QAU audit findings.
+ Quality check all study-related documentation throughout the study lifecycle.
+ Document study data as required by protocol and SOP.
+ Archive study files according to SOP.
+ Interface with principal investigators and contributing scientists for studies conducted on-site and at contract laboratories.
+ Support the study director with the preparation of draft study protocols and reports.
+ Coordinate project/study logistics.
+ Request study-specific equipment and instrumentation.
+ Collaborate with study coordinator to request and schedule studies to meet project timelines.
+ Place animal orders in accordance with protocol and study schedule.
+ Request ordering of appropriate animal-related drugs to meet protocol and SOP requirements.
+ Coordinate receipt, submission, and transfer of test and/or control articles.
+ Support the conduct of histopathology work tasks, including management, transfer, and receipt of histology specimens to an external laboratory.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with preclinical animal research, including comfort with large animals such as dogs, sheep, and pigs.
+ Willingness to learn and strong record-keeping experience.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
+ Experience in a GLP-regulated environment.
+ Knowledge of both human and animal anatomy/physiology.
+ Surgical support experience, comfortable assisting during surgical procedures.
+ Ability to understand and precisely follow Standard Operating Procedures.
+ Meticulous attention to detail to identify and correct discrepancies/errors.
+ Strong background in data collection, data management, and data integrity.
+ Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
+ Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
+ Strong organizational and project management skills.
+ Safety-minded in workspace organization and conduct.
+ Accountability for one's own actions and work.
+ Basic computer proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
+ Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Zoology, Animal Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related STEM field preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be substituted.
+ Leadership and public speaking skills are preferred but not required.
+ Surgical Research Specialist (SRS) certification is preferred but not required.
+ Associates may be asked to bring their own device (BYOD) for this role, unless other arrangements have been made to provide a laptop.
Work Environment
This Actalent Services LLC position requires working onsite.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Cincinnati, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
