Job Description:

This position offers the opportunity to support process development and product commercialization throughout the global plant network. You will work cross-functionally to lead process development of complex technologies on new products, drive new business activities, and ensure efficient and effective transfer of products into production. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual who can solve complex technical problems both independently and in a team setting. The environment is fast-paced and will require collaboration across multiple functions within a global company. Your technical skills, passion for innovation, and continuous improvement will be key in driving growth through efficient commercialization of new products.

Responsibilities:

+ Partner with R&D to develop design specifications, draft test methods, and drive material selection.

+ Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package.

+ Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling, and automation.

+ Contribute creative and innovative ideas to solve complex technical problems.

+ Propose or investigate new technologies to pave a path for future business.

+ Oversee development builds and initial production builds associated with the project using special work requests (SWRs).

+ Train and/or provide work direction to technicians and engineers and may train manufacturing personnel when required.

+ Assess process capabilities, prioritize process improvement opportunities, and implement process improvements.

+ Prepare and present technical data and recommendations to project stakeholders at technical reviews.

+ Write and review validation protocols and reports applicable to new processes.

+ Execute functional deliverables associated with the PDP/TDP and Quality System.

+ Ensure proper documentation is completed to meet quality system requirements.

+ Collaborate with operations counterparts in manufacturing engineering and quality engineering for product transfer from development to production.

Essential Skills:

+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

+ 2-4 years of experience in engineering roles.

+ Strong engineering fundamentals, conflict resolution experience, and problem-solving skills.

+ Ability to develop and drive innovative solutions for both processes and products.

+ Demonstrated cross-functional teamwork and collaboration skills.

+ Strong communication and time management skills.

+ Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

+ Experience developing and characterizing various types of extruded processes.

+ Experience working with polymers and understanding extrusion impacts.

+ Ability to develop equipment/fixtures from concept to production.

+ Experience with DFSS tools, DOE, and problem solving.

+ Experience in mechanical design, automation, controls, and programming.

+ Strong understanding of statistics and statistical analysis software.

+ Experience in the medical device or other regulated industries.

+ Experience as a technical project lead or similar responsibilities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maple Grove, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
