    Job Title: Senior Environmental Scientist/Project ManagerJob Description

     

    We are seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist/Project Manager to join our team in Brighton. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced environmental professional to manage complex projects and navigate Michigan’s regulatory framework, particularly Parts 213 and 201. The role offers some hybrid work flexibility.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead environmental investigation and remediation projects from planning through execution.

    + Prepare and review Initial Assessment Reports (IARs), Final Assessment Reports (FARs), and Closure Reports under Parts 213 and 201.

    + Support environmental due diligence activities, including Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments, Baseline Environmental Assessments (BEAs), and Due Care documentation.

    + Coordinate field activities and manage subcontractors to ensure compliance with regulations.

    + Provide construction oversight on environmental remediation projects and the operation and maintenance of remediation systems.

    + Mentor and train field and staff scientists in conducting various fieldwork activities.

    + Assist in data interpretation and preparation of site work plans, spreadsheets, figures, and technical reports.

    + Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

    Essential Skills

    + B.S. degree in geology, engineering, or the sciences.

    + 5 to 10 years of environmental consulting experience, including investigations and sampling.

    + OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER certification.

    + Experience with Baseline Environmental Assessments (BEAs) and Due Care documentation under Michigan’s Part 201.

    + Industrial Stormwater Operator certification.

    + Ability to perform field-related responsibilities across all four seasons.

    + Valid Michigan Driver’s License.

    + Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 5 plus years of project management experience.

    + Asbestos Inspection certification.

    + Experience with the Seller/Doer business model.

    Work Environment

    The role offers a very casual work environment with flexible work hours. Standard work hours are between 8 to 9 hours per day, with typical start times from 7am-8:30am. The position involves approximately 75% office work and 25% field work. The team prefers in-office presence but accommodates a 1-2 day hybrid schedule. Opportunities for growth and a potential stock plan by the end of the year make this a rewarding opportunity.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brighton, MI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
