    Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

    Job Description

    As a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Machining, you will be responsible for designing new products and providing engineering support for existing ones. You will develop components for both new and existing products, and work on cost reduction for existing designs. This role involves both independent work and collaboration within a team environment.

    Responsibilities

    + Support existing production products and technical assignments related to larger projects.

    + Select appropriate techniques to solve problems and make sound process and programming recommendations using vertical and horizontal machines, as well as lathes, to meet design standards and customer specifications.

    + Develop and apply automation technology systems, including vision systems and laser QR etching.

    + Develop and support quality inspections using equipment such as Keyence, Marposs, and Hexagon.

    + Assist CNC set-up operators and process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), cost control, cycle time reductions, and task reductions.

    + Procure new equipment as needed.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree or a technical school degree in an engineering-related discipline.

    + Minimum of 2 years work experience in a manufacturing setting.

    + Ability to read and write G and M code, with a solid understanding of GD&T.

    + Experience with Autodesk CAD/CAM software; NX CAM experience is a plus.

    + Proficiency in CNC programming and CMM programming.

    + Understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics.

    + CAD skills in both 2D and 3D.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Quality experience including gauge selection and planning.

    + Proficient in quality improvement and industrial manufacturing.

    + Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to analyze and interpret CMM data.

    + Self-motivated with a drive for new challenges and knowledge.

    Work Environment

    The team works collaboratively, with cross-functional roles where team members can back each other up. The position involves working on the shop floor and shadowing set-up operators initially. A flexible schedule is offered, generally from 7:00 am to 4/4:30 pm. Busy periods are cyclical, with peak activity in the winter months and slower periods in the summer.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sullivan, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $45.67/hr.
