    Job Description

    The Surgical Technologist is responsible for maintaining a clean and sterile surgical room environment. This includes wiping down the room with alcohol at the start of the day and ensuring the cleanliness of all equipment and furniture throughout the day. The role involves assembling, maintaining, and protecting the sterile field, as well as ensuring that cases are opened and set up in a timely manner while adhering to aseptic and sterile techniques.

    Responsibilities

    + Check and maintain the cleanliness of all equipment and furniture throughout the day.

    + Assemble, maintain, and protect the sterile field.

    + Open and set up cases in a timely manner while adhering to aseptic and sterile techniques.

    + Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts with another team member.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with scope processing, decontamination, and sterilization.

    + Proficiency in aseptic technique.

    + Experience in neurology, orthopedic, and robotic surgical procedures.

    + Capability to scrub a variety of standard surgical care lines.

    + Ability to scrub robotic procedures.

    + Being able to be 'on call'.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + High School Diploma or GED required.

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

    + Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred but not required.

    + At least 1 year of experience scrubbing a variety of standard surgical care lines, excluding cardiac, with Robot, Ortho, and Neuro procedures.

    Work Environment

    The work schedule is Tuesday to Friday with 10-hour shifts. The hospital is a 342-bed acute care nonprofit facility offering a range of services, including an award-winning orthopedics program and a Neurovascular Stroke Center. Training and development opportunities are available through platforms like Abenity and Udemy.

    This is a Contract position based out of San Bernardino, CA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
