Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer with experience in safety processes to join our team. This role involves supporting both the VPI program for the Atlas Battery Program and providing global HSE support. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in battery and electrical safety practices.
Responsibilities
+ Provide 50% support for the VPI program, specifically for the Atlas Battery Program.
+ Conduct manufacturing cell design reviews.
+ Identify health and safety concerns for manufacturability through the VPI program, including product design review and chemical component analysis.
+ Perform risk identification and assessment, including Process Hazard Assessment (PHA).
+ Generate recommended actions based on assessments.
+ Provide global HSE support, including policy review and PHA for manufacturing sites.
+ Steward programs such as ANVL and LOTO.
+ Transfer information to support new business startup battery lines in foreign markets.
+ Assist in the identification and creation of engineering design standards related to batteries.
+ Actively promote safety awareness and a positive health, safety, and environmental culture.
+ Consult with employees to contribute to program, policy, and procedure development.
+ Work cross-functionally to improve hazard prevention, corrective, and preventive measures.
+ Lead and support PFMEA development with cross-functional teams.
+ Analyze failure modes, causes, and effects within processes.
+ Define quality safety risks using severity, occurrence, and detection values.
+ Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate high-risk issues.
+ Maintain and standardize PFMEA and risk management documentation.
+ Ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in manufacturing engineering and safety procedures.
+ Proficiency in PFMEA.
+ Strong knowledge of battery and electrical safety practices and compliance requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in battery plants or electrical safety.
Work Environment
This position may require limited regional travel to locations in Ohio and Michigan. The work will involve collaboration with cross-functional teams and may require working in various manufacturing environments. The role emphasizes compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
