Job Title: Body Structure EngineerJob Description

Join our innovative team as a Body Structure Engineer, where you will design and develop body (floor) structures using CAD and support prototype builds. You will engage in concept generation, mock-ups, and handle all prototype, design verification, and process verification builds. Your role will include planning for design, procurement, assembly, and validation requirements, ensuring alignment with project timing and deliverables. You will ensure designs meet quality and cost targets while suggesting low-cost alternatives and supporting design commonization efforts. In addition, you will collaborate on the design of body structure fixtures, lead design reviews, and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure all designs meet comprehensive requirements.

Responsibilities

+ Design and develop body (floor) structures using CAD.

+ Support prototype builds with concept generation and mock-ups.

+ Handle all prototype, design verification, and process verification builds.

+ Plan for design, procurement, assembly, and validation requirements aligning with project timing and deliverables.

+ Ensure designs meet quality and cost targets, suggesting low-cost alternatives.

+ Support design commonization efforts.

+ Collaborate in the design of body structure fixtures.

+ Lead design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive design requirements.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering field.

+ Experience with structural design and working with steel and aluminum parts and manufacturing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 5 years’ work experience in automotive body structures design is preferred.

+ Previous assembly plant launch experience preferred.

+ Dimensional Management and understanding of GD&T preferred.

Work Environment

This role requires onsite work at the Winamac facility. The company specializes in making vehicles wheelchair accessible and is currently working on converting SUVs like the Chevy Traverse. Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Winamac, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $110000.00/yr.

They are a large national company with multiple sites nationwide They are making major facility upgrades and automation upgrades. Their will be a variety of ways to build a variety skillsets that you can use to grow internally or take with you. They will give you automotive experience and manufacturing for consumer products as well. They have a company 401k match up to 40%. Good work environement. Ability to move up to different levels of senior engineering (categories 1-7) Through Actalent, you will have access to 2 weeks of PTO and 6 paid holidays that we provide in your first year that you can use in the entirety of 2023.
