    Sr Software Engineer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and test advanced software for complex embedded systems operating in real-time environments. The role involves working on cutting-edge ISR sensors used in a variety of manned and unmanned aircrafts for specialized missions.

    Responsibilities

    + Translate system and software requirements into detailed software designs aligned with architectural standards and modular, open-system principles.

    + Implement robust, high-performance software for mission-critical applications requiring exceptional reliability and availability.

    + Develop and maintain automated test frameworks to validate functionality and performance of embedded software components.

    + Apply and continuously improve secure development practices within a modern DevSecOps workflow.

    + Participate in peer reviews of requirements, architecture, code implementations, and test strategies.

    + Document software designs, interfaces, and integration details.

    + Create analysis tools to support system performance evaluation and troubleshooting.

    + Investigate and resolve software defects through structured root cause analysis and corrective actions.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in modern C++ (Version 14 or newer) and advanced software engineering practices.

    + Experience with multi-threading, memory management, and performance optimization.

    + Familiarity with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and code quality tools.

    + Real Time Operating System

    + Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, plus 5+ years of relevant experience.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Active security clearance.

    + Knowledge of signal processing or mathematical modeling.

    + Experience with GPU programming and high-performance computing.

    + Familiarity with RDMA and advanced networking concepts.

    + Experience in systems that integrate software and hardware for real-world interaction.

    + Ability to optimize and translate algorithms from MATLAB into efficient C++ implementations.

    + Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

    + Understanding of automation frameworks for workflow optimization.

    + Domain expertise in one or more of the following: electronic systems, sensor resource management, large-scale test environments, cyber-physical systems, or open architecture platforms.

    Work Environment

    This role will be mostly remote, but access to either the Woburn, MA or Arlington, VA office is required. The position may occasionally necessitate travel to Woburn.     This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington, VA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $80.00/hr.
