Job Title: Engineering Specialist

This position entails the responsibility of prototyping, testing, and documenting processes for all aspects of Research and Development (R&D) and product building. The R&D location manages approximately 700-800 prototypes annually, which are sent to other sites for further verification and testing.

Responsibilities

+ Manage the manufacturing and assembly process related to the up-fitting of vehicles.

+ Perform a variety of assembly operations using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.

+ Verify completed assemblies meet engineering requirements to fulfill customer needs.

+ Collaborate with the Operations Team to meet timelines and develop on-site early unit production.

+ Assist in identifying, implementing, and evaluating lean initiatives to boost productivity and efficiency.

+ Coordinate with engineering, quality, operations, purchasing, and others to develop processes.

+ Work with the Quality Engineer to identify quality concerns and help develop and implement corrective actions.

+ Analyze and support engineering deviations and change requests.

Essential Skills

+ Proficient experience with a variety of hand tools, power tools, and other equipment used in automotive settings.

+ Experience in vehicle teardown and re-build.

+ Ability to read blueprints.

+ Capability to perform electrical and mechanical assemblies, including prototype assembly and vehicle development.

+ Experience with electric vehicles and electrical systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Vehicle prototype development experience preferred.

+ Strong technical background in automotive driveline systems.

+ Experience with electric vehicles and high voltage safety knowledge is preferred.

+ Safety certifications are beneficial.

+ Electrical system diagnostics background and experience.

Work Environment

The work environment is a manufacturing and automotive prototype testing setting. The position operates on the 1st shift from Monday to Friday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Maumee, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
