Description

As an a Drafter, a typical day will consist of working behind the computer remotely for 8-10 hours a day (depending on workload) creating basemaps and incorporating redlines from a Planner on a variety of different programs. Our team works with several different departments within SCE, and each program has a unique scope of work with unique symbology and mapping. The common applications that will be used regularly are AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Smartsheet, Outlook, and the general Microsoft Suite.

+ Work hand in hand with Project Planner to draft and develop the construction plans using AutoCAD for utility drive scopes of work

+ Update specifications on designs to meet proper compliances with a variety of utilities and contractors

+ Plan daily with team lead regarding job and task priorities

+ Discuss scheduling issues, delays, completion timeframes with team lead early and often. This will ensure team lead can prepare more work or properly communicate delays/issues with the client.

+ Track time daily and fill out time sheets accurately. Communicate time off appropriately with team lead.

+ Using correct symbology, callouts, decals, tie downs, structures, etc.

+ Once assignment is complete, double check redlines received from planner/designer, contractor, or utility to ensure everything was addressed

+ Consult with planner to resolve discrepancies and ensure proper standards are met.

+ Ask questions and take notes to avoid duplicate errors or mistakes

+ Ability to handle multiple assignments, adjust priorities when needed, and review design specifications for designated contractors, utilities, municipalities will be requirement once trained up

+ Ability to sit for long periods of time

+ Ability to work overtime as needed

Qualifications & Prerequisites:

+ 1-2 years of AutoCAD drafting experience is preferred but not required

+ MS Office

+ Google Earth Pro and Blue Beam Revu preferred but not required

+ High School Diploma required; AA/BA/BS preferred

This is a Permanent position based out of Fullerton, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
