What You’ll Do
+ Participate in games and practices, including organization and implementation of daily practices.
+ Coaches in competition and training.
+ Prepares film breakdown and analysis; presents analysis to team members.
+ Plans and prepares for games and training.
+ Assists with organizing team travel and meals.
+ Assists with scouting, recruitment, and strategy development.
+ Supports player and leadership development.
+ Contributes to strength and conditioning program, including one-on-one strength, and conditioning work with student athletes.
+ Provides support and encouragement to student athletes.
+ Provides support and encouragement to student athletes.
+ Recruits and retains talented athletes; builds relationship with prospective student athletes and their families through email, phone, and one-on-one meetings.
+ Understands NCAA and North Atlantic Conference (NAC) rules, compliance, and laws.
+ Ensures the safety and well-being of student athletes.
+ Serves as an effective role model for college-age students.
+ Assists with day-to-day operations of the softball program.
+ Provides effective communication to head coach.
+ collaborates effectively with other Department of Athletics' team members.

Required Qualifications:
+ High School diploma or equivalent
+ Experience with the skills of softball
+ Valid driver's license (in good standing, based on UMS standards)
+ Availability for practices and weekend competitive schedule
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree
+ Collegiate competitive experience/coaching
+ Sports recruiting experience
+ CPR/First Aid Certification

The University of Maine at Farmington employees are Mandatory Reporters with the exception of UMF’s licensed, clinical medical providers (including athletic trainers) and mental health providers and their clinical interns when working in their capacity as providers.
