Description
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. This is a long-term contract position with the potential for growth as the company expands. The role is a long-term contract a part-time position (10–15 hours per week). Ideal candidates will have experience in bookkeeping within a manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities:
• Manage accounts payable processes, including high-volume vendor invoices, and perform 3-way matching between purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices.
• Communicate with vendors to address inventory discrepancies and resolve invoice issues in a timely manner.
• Oversee month-end closing procedures, ensuring accrual-based draft financials are prepared by the 10th and finalized by the 15th.
• Allocate daily production costs and reconcile inventory data, performing month-end "true-ups" to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare monthly schedules, including payroll
• Ensure accurate financial reporting by adhering to established accounting practices and procedures.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance cost allocation processes and inventory management.
• Assist in developing efficient bookkeeping systems tailored to the company's operational needs.
• Support the transition from outsourced services to in-house bookkeeping functions, ensuring seamless integration.
• Provide comprehensive financial data to assist in long-term planning and decision-making.
Requirements
• Associate’s degree in Accounting or higher is preferred.
• Proven experience in bookkeeping, with a strong background in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel, including data entry and formula creation.
• Familiarity with 3-way matching processes and inventory management.
• Prior experience in manufacturing environments.
• Ability to perform cost allocation and inventory reconciliations with precision.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for vendor and internal team interactions.
