Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Attorney with a strong background in insurance defense and construction defect litigation to join our team in San Diego, California. This is a contract position with the potential for a permanent role, offering the opportunity to manage complex cases from inception to resolution while collaborating with a dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will excel at litigation strategy, case management, and fostering productive client relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Manage insurance defense and construction defect cases, overseeing all phases from initial evaluation to resolution.

• Conduct thorough case assessments and develop strategic litigation budgets to guide case progression.

• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents while ensuring compliance with case strategies.

• Handle depositions effectively, including preparation, execution, and defense to align with litigation goals.

• Respond to all stages of litigation, including trial preparation and law & motion matters.

• Utilize legal case management software to organize case files and ensure accurate billing practices.

• Collaborate with clients to maintain strong communication and provide updates on case developments.

• Meet billable hour requirements, typically between 1,500 and 1,850 hours annually.

• Stay informed on legal trends and changes in insurance defense and construction defect litigation.

• Ensure high-quality representation and advocacy during all litigation phases. Requirements • Juris Doctorate (JD) and active admission to practice law in the relevant state.

• At least 5 years of experience specializing in insurance defense and/or construction defect litigation.

• Demonstrated ability to independently manage cases, including evaluations and budgeting.

• Proficiency in drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and preparing for trial.

• Strong deposition skills and familiarity with civil litigation processes.

• Excellent communication skills for building and maintaining client relationships.

• Experience with legal case management software and commitment to accurate billing practices.

• Solid understanding of law & motion matters and trial preparation techniques.
