Description
We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to contribute to key financial processes and system operations within the logistics industry. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise and the ability to adapt quickly to financial systems, ensuring accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accurate and timely financial records.
• Manage high-volume invoicing processes, including sending invoices to customers.
• Conduct audits to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring data accuracy across systems.
• Assist in cleaning up financial records, verifying system transfers, and eliminating duplicate entries.
• Support billing operations during team transitions and contract leaves.
• Collaborate on system to accommodate specific financial requirements, such as currency adjustments.
• Generate and analyze audit reports to improve financial accuracy and compliance.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of financial systems.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards
Requirements
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
- 1-3 years of Staff Accountant experience
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Proven knowledge of ERP systems
- Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Be detailed, flexible, and organized
- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
- Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
- Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
- Audit experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger
