    Systems Administrator

     

    Hybrid | Austin, TX | Contract

     

    Our client is seeking a Systems Administrator with 4+ years of experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments, identity management, and automation. This role supports day‑to‑day IT operations with a focus on system stability, user productivity, automation, and secure access management. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a hybrid environment (3 days onsite).

    Responsibilities:

    + Administer Microsoft Exchange Online, including mailboxes, mail flow, distribution groups, and retention policies

    + Manage SharePoint Online, including site architecture, permissions, and data loss prevention settings

    + Automate administrative and compliance tasks using PowerShell and Microsoft Power Automate

    + Perform identity and access management across Active Directory and Entra ID

    + Provide support for Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft 365 integrations

    + Manage user identities, group structures, and access permissions at scale

    + Support Microsoft Purview eDiscovery tasks such as content searches, legal holds, and compliance activities

    + Maintain operational documentation and follow ITIL-aligned practices

    + Contribute to incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    + 4+ years of IT systems administration experience

    + Hands-on experience with Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, PowerShell, and Microsoft Power Automate

    + Strong understanding of Active Directory, Azure, Entra ID, and Windows-based environments

    + Experience supporting hybrid environments that integrate on-premises systems with Microsoft 365 and Azure services

    + Familiarity with ITSM tools such as SolarWinds or Jira

    + Basic SQL querying experience for data retrieval and reporting (preferred)
