Description We are looking for a skilled Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Sterling, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for managing billing processes, collections, and financial reporting to ensure the company's accounts receivable operations run smoothly. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for long-term career growth.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and process accurate accounts receivable invoices and billing documentation.
• Manage collections activities, including following up on overdue accounts within established timelines.
• Generate and maintain accounts receivable aging reports using Excel to track outstanding balances.
• Create monthly accounts receivable financial reports to provide insights into cash flow and revenue.
• Collaborate with general contractors to gather necessary documentation and resolve payment inquiries.
• Cross-train in accounts payable processes to ensure operational flexibility and team coverage.
• Utilize Excel to perform detailed financial analyses and reporting tasks.
• Ensure compliance with AIA billing standards and prepare required AIA documents.
• Monitor cash application activities to accurately record payments and maintain account balances. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections.
• Proficiency in preparing aging reports and monthly financial statements using Excel.
• Familiarity with AIA billing processes and related documentation.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and ability to cross-train in this area.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills for collaborating with contractors and team members.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced, office-based environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial reporting and analysis.
• Knowledge of construction-specific accounting systems is a plus, but not required.
