    Description

    We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Payroll Accountant to join our team in Alexandria, Virginia. In this role, you will oversee payroll operations for a workforce of 250+ employees while ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining accuracy in payroll processing. This position requires collaboration with multiple departments to optimize payroll and accounts payable procedures while safeguarding confidential employee data.

    Payroll Accountant Responsibilities:

    • Process weekly and bi-weekly payrolls accurately and on time using UKG Ready, adhering to legal requirements and internal policies.

    • Participate in the implementation and optimization of UKG Ready features to improve workflow efficiency.

    • Perform payroll-related reconciliations, including benefits, taxes, and employee expenses, in coordination with the accounting team.

    • Handle personnel changes such as onboarding new hires, processing terminations, and updating employee records.

    • Assist with payroll audits and reporting tasks to ensure compliance and accuracy.

    • Support accounts payable activities by managing credit card transactions and reviewing payment details.

    • Address payroll-related inquiries from employees with professionalism and efficiency.

    • Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all financial and employee data.

    Requirements

    • At least 5 years of hands-on experience managing full-cycle payroll.

    • Associate’s Degree or higher in a relevant field, payroll certification, or equivalent knowledge of payroll regulations and practices.

    • Previous experience in construction or project-based industries is highly desirable.

    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formula use and data imports.

    • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask effectively.

    • Positive attitude and willingness to take on tasks of varying complexity.

    • Bilingual English and Spanish strongly preferred.
