    Description

    A mid-sized insurance defense firm located in Walnut Creek, California, focused primarily on auto matters, is seeking a Litigation Attorney for an immediate contract-to-hire opportunity. This hybrid role requires three days on-site for the first 60 days, then two days on-site thereafter, and is ideal for an attorney who can step in quickly and manage an active caseload independently.

    Responsibilities:

    + Manage an assigned caseload from early stages through trial

    + Draft and respond to written discovery

    + Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members

    + Maintain case files and ensure deadlines are met

    + Collaborate with partners and staff

     

    Note: No trials or depositions will be required during the contract period but will upon conversion.

    Requirements

    + 3+ years of litigation experience

    + Insurance defense experience preferred, but open to attorneys with any civil litigation background

    + Active California Bar membership in good standing

    + Ability to manage cases independently

    + Comfortable working in a hybrid environment

    + Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills
