Description We are looking for a skilled Property Accountant to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. This contract position with the potential for a permanent role offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with experience in property accounting and Yardi software to contribute to a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will manage financial responsibilities for both residential and commercial properties while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in all accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

• Handle monthly and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Reconcile accounts and prepare journal entries to maintain the general ledger.

• Process invoices, approve payments, and integrate them into the accounting system.

• Maintain and update utility logs, including managing utility services for commercial properties.

• Collaborate with tenants and field operations teams to address financial inquiries and ensure smooth operations.

• Prepare budgets and assist in financial forecasting for property management.

• Conduct real estate tax reconciliations and ensure compliance with local regulations.

• Generate financial reports and provide insights to support decision-making.

• Manage ad-hoc accounting tasks and support the team as needed.

• Work closely with commercial operations to ensure alignment with financial goals. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably within property management.

• Proficiency in Yardi Voyager software, with experience in version 7 or 8.

• Strong understanding of month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Ability to manage general ledger accounts and perform accurate reconciliations.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in handling invoices and budgets.

• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with tenants and team members.

• Associate degree in Accounting preferred, but not required.

• Demonstrated ability to adapt and thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
