Description We are looking for an experienced Budget Analyst to join a respected non-profit organization in San Diego, California. This is a Contract to permanent position that offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by ensuring the organization’s financial operations are efficient and transparent. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills and expertise in budgeting to support key fiscal strategies and processes.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed financial statements on a regular basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to enhance efficiency within the accounting department.

• Conduct audits to compare budgeted figures with actual expenses and identify variances.

• Provide executive leadership with comprehensive financial insights and reports to support decision-making.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash disbursements, cash receipts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

• Generate monthly financial reports such as balance sheet audits, cash flow statements, and reconciliation summaries.

• Assist in formulating the organization’s budget by evaluating departmental spending and offering actionable recommendations.

• Collaborate on the creation and improvement of financial manuals, policies, and procedural documents.

• Prepare monthly sales tax reports and other specialized financial reports as requested by stakeholders. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or a related field.

• Proficiency in managing annual budgets and understanding budget processes.

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and general ledger management.

• Ability to conduct audits and analyze budget-to-actual comparisons.

• Skilled in preparing comprehensive reports to support executive decision-making.

• Experience with developing financial policies, manuals, and procedures.

• Excellent organizational and analytical abilities to manage multiple financial tasks simultaneously.

• Familiarity with non-profit financial operations is a plus.
