A Snapshot of Your Day
This role will work to set the trajectory for the materials
research and development department within the compression business. Learning and
advancing the metallurgical state of the art within Siemens Energy, developing
future technologies, sharing existing knowledge and best practices for material
selection, manufacturing, corrosion prediction, and failure analysis. Serve as
a technical lead for both internal and external discussions. Participate as a
representative in industry technical committees. Daily work will involve
solving material related challenges for new equipment, aftermarket,
procurement, manufacturing, and engineering departments. A drive to improve
existing technologies while leveraging historical experience is critical for
this role to thrive.
How You’ll Make an Impact
+ Developand execute the materials technical roadmap to support business growth ensuringfuture readiness and skill development within the expert community.
+ Collaborateacross engineering, manufacturing, and R&D to create innovative,high-performance products to support the compression business.
+ Serve asthe key contact for management regarding technical topics within theMaterials Engineering community.
+ Engage inexternal conferences and publish insights, while maintaining globaltechnical responsibility in the community.
+ Enhancingreliability and performance of rotating and pressure containing equipment.
What You Bring
+ Bachelor’sor master’s degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or arelated field.
+ Minimum of7 years of experience in metallurgy or a Senior Metallurgist withdemonstrated expertise in high-strength low alloy steel, stainless steel,and nickel-based alloys. Must possess strong knowledge in materialselection, corrosion protection, surface coatings, non-metallic sealingmaterials, and failure analysis. Thosewith more experience may be considered for a more senior level.
+ Ability tofoster collaboration across product lines and research and developmentgroups to drive innovative product development.
+ Challengethe status quo by pushing technology forward and preparing for futureoperational tasks.
+ Maintainconnections with experts and clients in the Materials Engineering communitiesto enhance interdisciplinary understanding and create connections betweentopics.

This job is based in Painted Post, New York. Siemens Energy

The base salary range for this position based in Painted Post, New York is
$118,000-$220,000.
Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as
experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees
typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on
each individual’s qualifications.
