    Job Summary:

    The Dock Supervisor oversees the movement and storage of raw materials, finished goods, and equipment to support production schedules and outbound commitments. This role is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, managing stock levels, and ensuring parts availability to minimize stockouts and control costs. The Dock Supervisor provides direct leadership to dock personnel and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant dock operations aligned with business objectives. The supervisor adjusts departmental plans to address day-to-day operational challenges and makes decisions guided by established policies, procedures, and standard work.

    Essential Duties:

    Functional Leadership & Operations:

    + Oversee daily dock operations including receipt, inspection, storage, staging, movement, and shipment of materials, products, and equipment

    + Ensure accurate inventory transactions, material movements, and system integrity through effective controls, reconciliation practices, and standard work

    + Coordinate labor, equipment, and dock capacity to support production schedules and outbound commitments

    Strategic Alignment & Continuous Improvement:

    + Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to dock operations, inventory accuracy, and material flow

    + Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and cost drivers; recommend and implement process improvements

    + Apply Lean manufacturing principles, standard work, and mistake-proofing techniques to drive continuous improvement

    Team Development & Knowledge Sharing:

    + Hire, train, coach, and supervise dock staff to ensure operational readiness and skill development

    + Set clear expectations, promote accountability, and foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement

    + Ensure team members are trained on procedures, systems, and safety requirements

    Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

    + Coordinate closely with Production, Inventory Control, Quality, Supply Chain, and Transportation teams to align material flow

    + Support special projects and initiatives impacting dock operations and material movement

    + Communicate operational status, risks, and constraints to internal stakeholders

    Quality, Safety, Compliance, & Risk Management:

    + Enforce safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements within dock operations

    + Ensure compliance with inventory control, material handling, and shipping/receiving standards

    + Identify and mitigate operational risks related to safety, quality, inventory accuracy, and delivery performance, including participation in corrective action activities

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    + Provides direct supervision to Dock Operators, including work assignment, performance oversight, training, and adherence to safety and operational standards

    Travel Requirement:

    + Occasional local travel between company facilities, as required to support operational needs

    Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

    + To ensure health and safety in the workplace and for employee protection, wearing PPE is required and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. A respirator fit test will be required based on functional area.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications: Preferred and/or Required

    Required:

    + Associate’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience

    Preferred:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field

    + Certified Warehouse Logistics Professional (CWLP) – IWLA

    + Certified Forklift Operator Trainer – OSHA/NSC

    + OSHA 30-Hour General Industry

    Essential Qualifications:

    + 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in warehouse operations within a manufacturing or distribution environment

    + Strong change management skills with the ability to learn and implement Lean Management principles and concepts

    + Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and warehouse management systems (WMS)

    + Ability to lead, motivate, and influence employees

    + Strong communication and conflict resolution skills

    + Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

    + Ability to work under pressure while managing competing priorities and deadlines

    + Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English

    + Alignment to Panasonic’s seven (7) core principles (contribution to society, fairness and honesty, cooperation and team spirit, untiring effort for improvement, courtesy and humility, adaptability, gratitude)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + 5+ years of supervisory experience in warehouse and inventory management, including direct oversight of hourly staff

    + Strong background in supply chain performance metrics and process optimization

    + Proven team leadership and development skills

    + Advanced proficiency in **Microsoft Office** (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

    + Experience in high-volume manufacturing procurement, preferably within the energy storage, automotive, or electronics industries

    Physical Demands:

    **Physical Activities:** Percentage of time (equaling 100%) during the normal workday the employee is required to:

    + Sit: 10%

    + Walk: 50%

    + Stand: 40%

    **Required Lifting and Carrying:** _Rare (<1%), Occasional (1-33%), Frequent (34-66%), Continuous (67-100%)_

    For this position, the required frequency is:

    + Up to 10 lbs.: Continuous

    + Up to 20 lbs.: Frequent

    + Up to 35 lbs.: Frequent

    + Team-lift only (over 35 lbs.): Occasional
