Overview:

Direct / Lead all aspects of the traffic/warehouse operations at a LATICRETE manufacturing and distribution facility. Ensure maximum utilization of staff, equipment, raw materials and other resources to maximize customer service, customer satisfaction, and meet the needs of the business.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

+ Operate a safe work environment that exceeds OSHA requirements and assures that all plant operations are in compliance with corporate policies and government regulations.

+ Meet or exceed all customer requirements (e.g. on-time and complete shipments) with excellent service and quick resolution of customer complaints.

+ Plan and control the operations of the Shipping & Receiving Department and its staff. Provide support for the efficient scheduling of trucking activity and the accurate and timely preparation and distribution of the associated loads. Plan manpower assignments and schedules in support of shipping & receiving requirements insuring the most efficient and cost effective use of resources. Insure that all the required documentation and computer entries are completed accurately and in a timely fashion.

+ Provide leadership and direction for continuous improvement in related processes and systems.

+ Assist in the development & implementation of key performance metrics used to facilitate sustained levels of improvement.

+ Continually evaluate cost, quality, and inventory control processes identifying and implementing ways to reduce costs, eliminate waste and reduce inventory levels.

+ Ensure timely and accurate receipt of all incoming materials, inventory accuracy and optimal utilization of warehouse spaces.

+ Maintain flow of operations by directing the work of employees, apportioning work and communicating production status, requirements, and problems to Production, QC, Customer Service and other related departments.

+ Handle all supervisory responsibilities for department personnel including recruiting, hiring, training, work performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions per company policy.

+ Assure that the warehouse is properly staffed with capable people in all functions and that team member skills are continually developed and improved.

+ Assist in the development of annual plant operating expense and capital budgets and control spending where applicable per approved budget.

+ Assure that a good quality management system (and ISO certification where applicable) is maintained with all activities and products in compliance with or exceeding applicable quality procedures and standards.

+ Identify capital projects for the facility, submit proposals and implement approved expenditures.

+ Foster employee empowerment and facilitate an atmosphere of teamwork.

+ Assist the Plant Manager with other aspects of plant operations as needed.

Nonessential Job Functions:

+ Other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

Job Specifications/Skills:

+ Minimum 5-years’ experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing or distribution facility.

+ Working knowledge of Supply Chain Management concepts/methods (e.g. MPS, MRP/MRPII, CRP, PAC, JIT).

+ “Self-starter” who works independently and can produce results with minimal management guidance.

+ Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.

+ Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and motivate teams within the plant environment.

+ Ability to work cross-functionally with both plant and corporate personnel.

+ Spanish as a 2nd language preferred.

+ Computer skills: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.

+ Team cooperation - maintain positive, cooperative attitude with all employees of LATICRETE and all customers.

Minimum Educational Requirements:

+ 4-year bachelor degree from accredited university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
