LIFEGUARD 1

Department: Aquatics

Job Classification: Part Time

Supervised by: Aquatics Director

Position Summary:

Under the Supervision of Aquatics Management lifeguards will ensure the safety of patrons of the aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies.

Mornings -- 5:45am-10am Monday-Friday

Responsibilities & Duties:

+ Maintain a high level of professionalism

+ Will be rescue ready ( swimsuit, uniform, whistle, & personal protective equipment)

+ Remain vigilant and act quickly in making rescues and rendering aid

+ Enforce water safety standards (rules) and departmental regulations

+ Actively participate in all in-service trainings and drills

+ Exhibits excellent customer service

+ Maintain a clean and safe work area, which may include monitoring pool chlorine levels

+ Assist supervisors as requested

+ Provide excellent customer service to all members

Qualifications

+ Current American Red Cross Lifeguard; First Aid, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer; Waterfront Certifications.

+ Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness

+ Have an understanding of EAP procedures

+ 18 years or older

Physical Demands:

+ Good physical condition and strength.

+ Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

+ Able to stand on feet for long periods of time.

+ Able to squat and bend at the waist
