Job Summary
The Manager of Digital Design leads a team of digital designers responsible for creating accessible, compliant, and compelling digital experiences. This role ensures that all digital design work aligns with contractual requirements, brand standards, and member experience goals. The Manager of Digital Design combines creative leadership with a strong understanding of compliance and accessibility to deliver user-centered digital solutions that drive engagement across all audiences.
Essential Functions
+ Prioritize and manage workloads to ensure timely delivery of high-quality digital assets.
+ Cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the digital design team.
+ Supervise and develop a team of digital designers, providing mentorship, feedback, and professional growth opportunities.
+ Lead the development of compliant, accessible, and responsive digital designs that meet brand, regulatory, and usability standards.
+ Support the creation and maintenance of standardized templates and components to ensure consistency and compliance across sites.
+ Maintain awareness of federal and state-specific guidelines affecting digital content and presentation.
+ Review and approve digital design work prior to publication.
+ Implement and refine design governance processes to improve efficiency, reduce rework, and uphold regulatory standards.
Education/Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in Digital Design, Graphic Design, Communications, or a related field.
+ One or more years of project and/or people management experience.
+ Five or more years of digital design experience, preferably within highly regulated industries.
Other Skills
+ Strong understanding of accessibility requirements (Section 508, WCAG 2.1 AA and 2.2) and responsive design principles.
+ Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
+ Ability to translate complex requirements into clear, user-friendly digital experiences.
