    The Purchasing Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing company spend and ensuring we procure the highest-value products and services to support our operations. This role goes beyond purchase order execution, it is a data-driven, cross-functional position focused on spend analytics, supplier evaluation, cost-reduction initiatives, and strategic sourcing support.

     

    The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, commercially aware, and comfortable challenging the status quo. They enjoy digging into data, partnering with internal stakeholders, and turning insights into measurable financial impact. This role directly impacts the company’s bottom line. The Purchasing Analyst will help uncover hidden savings, improve supplier relationships, and ensure procurement decisions are data-driven and aligned with business strategy.     DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

    + Analyze company-wide spend to identify cost-reduction opportunities, pricing inconsistencies, and demand-consolidation opportunities

    + Develop dashboards and reports that provide visibility into spend trends, vendor concentration, and savings initiatives

    + Partner with Finance and business leaders to quantify savings and track realized vs. forecasted benefits

    + Support supplier selection, RFP/RFQ processes, and vendor negotiations through data analysis and market research

    + Evaluate supplier performance related to pricing, quality, delivery, and service levels

    + Assist in contract reviews to identify pricing, volume, and term optimization opportunities

    + Identify opportunities to standardize products, services, and purchasing processes

    + Support procurement policy compliance and recommend improvements to controls and workflows

    + Leverage ERP and procurement systems to improve data quality and purchasing efficiency

    + Act as a trusted partner to Operations, Finance, IT, and other departments to understand business needs and sourcing requirements

    + Translate business requirements into actionable procurement insights and sourcing strategies

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED

    Required

    + Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field

    + 3–5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, finance, supply chain, or data analytics

    + Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel capabilities (pivot tables, lookups, data modeling)

    + Ability to analyze large data sets and clearly communicate insights and recommendations

    + Strong attention to detail with the ability to see the “big picture”

    Preferred

    + Experience with ERP or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday, Coupa, Ariba, etc.)

    + Exposure to contract analysis, strategic sourcing, or supplier negotiations

    + SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting/analytics tools

    + Experience working in a multi-location or complex operating environment

    + Previous experience in the heavy equipment industry or working knowledge of shop consumables (e.g., MRO supplies, tooling, PPE, lubricants, and operational support materials) and their impact on production efficiency, cost, and quality.
