    Job Summary:

    Key Responsibilities:

    + **Survey Testing:** Beta-test newly programmed surveys for functionality, readability and flow.

    + **Telephone Interviewing** : Conduct survey phone calls and accurately enter data utilizing a Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) system, Qualtrics, RedCAP, and/or other survey data collection tools.

    + **Communications:** Clearly and concisely communicate, in a professional and courteous manner, with survey participants, adhering to HIPAA and COMIRB guidelines, and maintaining participant confidentiality. Interviewers will be required to sign and adhere to a confidentiality agreement.

    + **Protocol Compliance:** Ensure all outreach and data handling activities align with confidentiality standards and organizational guidelines. Follow all CU Anschutz campus protocols and procedures. Violation of these protocols could be cause for termination.

    + **Survey Processing:** Assist in processing materials and data for multi-mode (phone, web, and paper) surveys and contact verification processes.

    + **Data Management:** Access, verify, and accurately log updates on survey outreach and contact protocol-related activities in secure databases. Activity log call attempts, participant contacts, and detailed notes during active data collection.

    + **Cohort Management:** Update and confirm participant contact information, scheduling, and returning callback requests, track frequency of contact attempts for participants to ensure alignment with survey contact protocols and best practices.

    + **Communication Management:** Retrieve returned mail (physical), voice mail and e-mail messages, track contacts and conduct appropriate follow-up.

    + **Training Activities:** Participate in all interviewer training activities and assist in training new interviewers including conducting mock interviews, assisting with technology challenges and updating documentation with the unique perspectives and experiences of experienced interviewers.Complete patient and data safety courses as required by the University and the SRU.

    + This is a part-time, hourly position that reports to the Assistant Director of CEPEG.

    Qualifications:

    + Two (2) years of experience in a role that supports operations, data collection, communications, and/or telephone interviewing.

    + **Substitution:** A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to two (2) years.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience with data entry.

    + Experience with HIPAA compliance and maintaining the highest standards of privacy and confidentiality.

    + Bilingual, Spanish/English (highly desirable).

    Conditions of Employment:

    + This is a part-time, non-benefits eligible position.

    + On average, it is expected that interviewers will work 10-15 hours/week, during times that SRU is conducting active data collection (generally October to December and February to May). **During times when SRU is not conducting active data collection work/hours may not be available.**

    + This position requires at least one evening shift per week (4-8pm) and two Saturday shifts per month (11am-4pm) during active data collection periods.

    + Must be willing and able to attend weekly team meetings.

    + Remote operations may be available in some instances. For remote work, an interviewer must have access to a reliable internet connection and private workspace to conduct data collection/ surveys with participants over the phone.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    + Proficiency with general computer operations.

    + Dependable, prompt, and able to work scheduled shifts.

    + Excellent communication skills, the ability to follow strict research protocols, and to ask survey questions verbatim in a professional manner.

    + Able to work independently as part of a team of professionals, and as a motivated and collaborative team member.

    + Strong attention to detail and drive to successfully complete assigned tasks.

    + Ability to adapt to new and emerging situations in a thoughtful manner.

    + Interest in data collection and survey design methodology.

    + Understanding of the importance of data integrity and methods to attain quality.

    Survey Interviewer (Part-Time, Hourly) - 38629 University Staff

     

    Join the Colorado School of Public Health as a Survey Interviewer(Technician II). This position will support the Community Epidemiology & Program Evaluation Group (CEPEG) with their survey operations for on-going, longitudinal statewide projects on various health topics, including smoking and vaping, exposure and screenings, health, and health behaviors. Interviewers are responsible for telephone interviewing respondents to obtain survey data, completing survey and other data entry tasks, preparing and tracking survey-related materials, and communicating with shift supervisors and the Survey Research Unit (SRU) operations manager when questions arise.Survey Interviewers will assist with survey programming quality assurance activities, such as functionality testing and assessment of content flow and readability. They will participate in practice survey sessions and role-playing activities with other interviewers and supervisors, as well as survey and data best practice training to reduce response bias and ensure data integrity and quality. Survey Interviewers may also participate in other activities that support the SRU as assigned.Survey Interviewer hours are available when the SRU is conducting active data collection, which is generally from October to December and February to May, but surveys may be conducted at any time of year. Interviewers can work up to 40 hours per week when fielding but are limited to 1039 hours annually (equivalent to < 50% or half-time position).

     

    - Survey interviewers will work either in-person on the CU Anschutz Campus or a combination of in-person and remote shifts. Interviewers will be required to work on site during training, and with supervisor approval will have the option to begin remote work once training is complete. To perform shifts remotely, the interviewer must demonstrate sound and astute interviewing skills, maintain a private, professional home workspace and possess the necessary technical capacity to meet the University and SRU compatibility standards, as well as HIPAA and COMIRB privacy and confidentiality requirements.     The starting salary for this position has been established as $21.13 - $25.00/hour. The above salary represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
