Houston Behavioral is currently looking for an energetic, organized, and dependent Project Specialist. This is a full time position and will report to the Director of Business Development.
Behavioral Health Clinical Nurse Liaison:
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, law enforcement, healthcare providers, schools, physicians, and case management/transfer teams to generate patient assessment and navigation to determine appropriate level of care.
+ Conduct professional outreach visits and presentations to educate referral sources and build relationships.
+ Team player on both Intake and Business Development teams, collaborating with all hospital department for best patient outcome and to support census growth initiatives.
Clinical Assessment & Coordination:
+ Perform clinical pre-admission screenings and evaluations to determine medical and behavioral appropriateness.
+ Review patient records, medical history, and psychosocial factors to assess fit for services.
+ Coordinate with Intake Department including conducting Nurse-to-Nurse and Doc-to-Doc screenings to them discern AOC for admission and transport, or provide appropriate outside referral.
+ Met referral sources where they are to ensure and provide smooth and timely communication, assessment and admission processes.
+ Serve as a clinical resource and advocate for patients and families throughout the referral and admission journey.
Documentation & Communication:
+ Accurately document referral activity, assessments, and communication within the admissions database.
+ Provide regular updates to leadership regarding referral trends, barriers, and outcomes.
+ Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all organizational privacy standards.
Requirements
+ Current licensure as an RN/LVN with behavioral health experience
+ Experience as an MOT Nurse in a behavioral hospital setting preferred.
+ Prior experience in marketing/business development and admissions preferred.
+ Strong knowledge of behavioral health.
+ Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
+ Ability to work independently, travel to referral sources, and manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.
